[Cops] can blow up your house, throw you out on the streets and say, “See you later. Deal with it.” – Leo Lech
Regular readers know that I love unusual song covers; Matt Welch recently pointed me to this surprisingly powerful acoustic German-language cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Paint in Black” by the late Czech star Karel Gott. I also recently discovered a Twitter account named Cop Crisis, which provided three of the links above the video (“sirree”, “oinks” and “understand”); the others were contributed by Tim Cushing (“says”), Mark Draughn (“safer”), and Jacob Sullum (“smell”).

“gender reveal explosion” WTF!?!
OK, I can understand the attraction of playing with explosives and fireworks. I live in PA, where they recently loosened the laws about fireworks, and the 4th of July gets REAL noisy. I’d join in, but I’m waiting for the local authorities to figure out that everybody will be a lot safer if they set up a ‘safe area’ with EMTs and the volunteer fire company on hand.
So far the local Politicians seem much more focused on trying to figure out how to overturn the loosening of the laws, which apparently got done through a ballot initiative.
“What!? How DARE those stupid peasants decide to ignore the wisdom of their betters!”
But it seems to be that mixing loud explosions and pregnant women is asking for tragedy.
