COME GET UR BITE. – “Officer” Keith Bush
Not quite a video, but in video format; this is the Philip K. Dick story “Impostor” adapted as a radio play. And if you like that one, here are five more. They were provided by Jesse Walker, who also gave us “Carmilla”; the other links were contributed by Cathy Reisenwitz (“protect”), Tushy Galore (“KKK”), Nun Ya (“Christmas” and “18”), and Wendy Lyon (“limited”).

Just a note on the “Don’t even call them on Christmas.” item.
The police shooting occurred in a wealthy neighborhood in a generally wealthy city, Palo Alto, California, the city adjacent to Leland Stanford Junior University.
The latest (12/29/2015) Palo Alto Police press release (of three) is here:
http://www.cityofpaloalto.org/civica/press/display.asp?layout=1&Entry=1387
It is worth reading for the detailed facts asserted, if true, even though they may be entirely self serving for the police.
The entire shooting event unfolded in about 19 seconds, and apparently police fired at least 9 shots. The event was apparently recorded from multiple angles, by multiple police video recorders.
There’s little doubt that he was less than sane, or that he called police himself and reported that a fictitious person at the residence “was really violent and wanted to harm someone”, or that he charged at police with a knife, or that police initially retreated, or that at least one officer fired a taser instead of a gun.
I’m no apologist for police abuse of citizens. But this tragedy may not be the best example of bad police responding to a legitimate call for help. Again, that is if the facts reported in the police press release are true.
So the police are able to spot, try, judge and execute an individual in all of 19 seconds.
But when it comes to them they must be entitled to the full due process under the law, and use their trump card “I was fearing for my life”…
If policemen aren’t ready to brave real danger, why should our culture celebrate their “courage”?
All I’m saying is that the police alleged facts in their press release that, if true, would tend to persuade that their shooting was justified self-defense.
I think that 19 seconds for the confrontation and attack is very plausible, Much can happen in 19 seconds. I’ve personally been assaulted and battered in less than 5 seconds, by a punk who suddenly attacked with no warning.
You can read the police press release and conclude what you want about whether it is a true recounting of the events. Neither of us witnessed the events. The police claim that the man charged at them with a knife after they retreated from him.
I support you or anyone else having the same right to defend yourself with deadly force if someone charged at you with a knife. If the police statement is true, I’d support same right for them to do so.
Even if you believe them, they shot a man who “attacked” them with a knife that has no point or sharp edge, and their best defense seems to be to quibble about the definition of “butter knife”.
